A New Endeavor

Hi, all!

Welcome to my website, friends. There's a lot I could and probably should say about my artistic journey - and a lot of people to thank - in this first blog post. Alas, I won't get to either of those things just now. I just want to briefly outline my intentions with this site, for any interested parties; gratitude and story-telling will come up in another blog post soon, I hope.

So let's get right to it: my hope with this site is threefold!

First, it is my hope that any and all who supporters enjoy my work will be able to see and follow it with ease. A number of kind and supportive family members, university friends, and further relations have expressed interest in accessing a library of my work. I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported my creativity through the years, and very pleased to be able to share this site as a place where those supporters might be able to continue following my work.

Second, I intend for this site to operate as my online portfolio, to be shared with any parties or individuals who might commission work from me. An online presence like this is a necessity for those of us who hope to make a profession out of art, and having a virtual gallery like this is therefore long overdue for me.

Third and finally, I hope to use this site as a place to hone and reflect upon my personal callings. I know it's the lot of most twenty-somethings to stew over their purpose - this blog, tucked in the corner of this site, might serve as a place for me to engage in some of that stewing. In other words, I am hoping that this blog function, as well as the art gallery space, will serve as a vision-setting-and-refining sounding board for me as I seek to discern what I am best at, what I truly enjoy, and where those things might intersect with needs in the world around me.

Maybe I'll share reflections on art - mine, other artists', or the art world in general - here. Maybe I'll share some poetry. Maybe I'll reflect on my spiritual journey/walk of faith. Maybe I'll share stories about birding and expanding my life list. To be honest, I don't really know what the blog on this site will look like - and that's kind of fun. If you've made it this far, thanks for being invested in my ramblings and art; it truly means more than I could hope to say.
