Birds From Life

This project includes sketches of birds from real life. While still photos allow for great detail in avian drawings, sketching a creature from life holds a magic all its own. When I look at these works, I am transported to the moments when I stood, quivering pencil or pen in hand, praying that these feathery subjects might stay still for a few moments more, and allow me to capture their likenesses. My hope is that some of the magic of those moments is communicated through these hastily drawn forms.
